The soft sunlight danced through Lily's bedroom window, casting warm golden rays across her pastel-colored walls. Her curly hair peeked out from under a cozy blanket, and Mr. Whiskers sat nearby, watching over her with his button eyes. It was a peaceful Saturday morning in springtime.
Lily hugged Mr. Whiskers close. 'I'm a little nervous about going outside today,' she whispered to her fuzzy friend. Mr. Whiskers seemed to listen carefully, his soft ears perked up with understanding. Lily's mom knocked gently on the door, her smile warm and encouraging.
'Would you like to help me plant some flowers in the garden?' Mom asked. Lily clutched Mr. Whiskers tightly. She loved flowers but was sometimes scared of new things. 'Can Mr. Whiskers come too?' she asked softly. Mom's smile grew wider. 'Of course he can!'
In the backyard, colorful flowers swayed in the gentle spring breeze. Mom showed Lily a small gardening trowel and some sunflower seeds. 'We'll plant these together,' she said, her voice calm and patient. Mr. Whiskers sat nearby, watching with his button eyes that seemed to say, 'You can do this, Lily!'
Lily hesitated at first, but with Mr. Whiskers tucked under her arm, she slowly took the trowel. Her small hands trembled a little, but Mom's gentle guidance helped her dig a tiny hole in the soft, dark soil. 'Look, Mr. Whiskers!' Lily whispered. 'I'm doing it!'
Each seed Lily planted made her a little more confident. She giggled as earthworms wiggled nearby, no longer feeling scared. Mom watched proudly, offering soft words of encouragement. Mr. Whiskers seemed to sit a bit straighter, as if celebrating Lily's growing bravery.
By the time they finished, Lily had planted an entire row of sunflower seeds. 'I did it, Mr. Whiskers!' she exclaimed, hugging her stuffed bunny. Her mom gave her a big hug. 'You were so brave today,' she said. Lily beamed with pride, knowing she had discovered a little bit of courage inside herself.
