Leo's Lovely Lesson

In a cozy treehouse nestled among the tall branches, Little Leo wiggled beneath his soft blanket. His big ears twitched with excitement as Mommy Elephant smoothed the covers around him. The moonlight peeked through the window, casting gentle shadows across the room.

'Mommy,' Leo asked, his trunk curling thoughtfully, 'what does it mean to be proud?' His eyes were wide and curious, reflecting the twinkling stars outside. Mommy Elephant smiled, knowing this was a special moment to teach her little one an important lesson.

Mommy settled beside Leo and began to explain. 'Being proud isn't about showing off or thinking you're better than others. True pride is about feeling good about trying your best, being kind, and helping those around you.' She gently touched Leo's soft ear.

She told Leo about a day in the jungle when he helped a tiny mouse find her way home. 'Remember how happy you were not because you were amazing, but because you made someone else's day better?' Leo nodded, his eyes sparkling with understanding.

Leo thought about the times he had tried hard at something - drawing a picture, helping in the garden, or being gentle with smaller animals. 'So pride is about feeling good inside, not about making others feel small?' he asked. Mommy Elephant's warm trunk hugged him close. 'Exactly, my little one.'
