Tommy sat on the floor of his room, surrounded by toys but feeling strangely empty. His best friend Jake had just shown him pictures of his massive toy collection, and suddenly, Tommy's own playthings seemed small and insignificant.

'Mom,' he called out, his voice tinged with frustration, 'I don't have enough toys. Can we go shopping?' His mother walked in, sensing the restlessness in her son's tone.

His mom sat beside him, her gentle eyes looking at the scattered toys. 'Tommy, do you remember when you played with this robot last week? You were so creative and happy,' she said, picking up an old favorite.

Tommy looked away. 'But Jake has so many more toys. It's not fair!' The hint of a whine crept into his voice.

'Sometimes,' his mom said softly, 'having more things doesn't make us more happy. Happiness comes from enjoying what we have.'

Later that afternoon, Jake came over. Tommy expected him to brag about his toys, but something different happened. Jake noticed an old board game and asked, 'Can we play this? I love this game!'

Tommy was surprised. Jake wasn't talking about buying new things or wanting more. He was excited about playing with what was already there.

'You really like this game?' Tommy asked.

'Of course!' Jake grinned. 'It's not about how many games you have, but how much fun you have playing them.'

That evening, Tommy looked at his toys differently. He started organizing them, remembering the joy each one had brought him. He realized his mom and Jake were right.

He didn't need more toys to be happy. He needed to appreciate and enjoy what he already had. With a smile, he picked up his favorite robot and began an imaginative adventure, his heart lighter and more content than it had been in weeks.
